CGU Football Friday - Round 9

ROUND 9 - Who will you tip this week?

Welcome back to CGU's Football Friday blog for another week of our expert tips.

Steele's 150 Game Milestone

Firstly we would like to say a huge congratulation to CGU expert tipper Steele Sidebottom, who will play his 150th senior game with Collingwood Football Club this Saturday at the MCG.

Steele has been a great asset to the club since his debut in 2009, and even in his second and third seasons, he played a vital role in Collingwood's Premiership and Grand Final teams.

Steele was recruited from the Murray Bushrangers with pick 11 in the 2008 National Draft, after kicking 10 goals in the TAC Cup Grand Final and hasn't looked back since. He has now grown into one of the most consistent players at the club, taking on the Vice Captain position in the leadership group at just 25 years old.

We wish Steele the best for this milestone game, go pies!

Your Chance to Win!

In honour of Steele's 150th game this weekend, we're giving you the chance to win a 2016 Collingwood FC guernsey signed by the whole team.

Round 9 Predictions

Round 9 will commence tonight between Hawthorn and Sydney at the MCG and as far as match ups go, it doesn’t get much better than this!

Hawthorn vs. Sydney Swans

The Swans will be coming off a disappointing one-point loss to the Tigers last round, while the Hawks who have a solid 6-2 record haven’t been in their greatest form and have the lowest percentage of any side in the top eight.

These two sides have met in a Grand Final twice in the past four seasons, so it will be the battle to prove their case as premiership contenders in 2016.

Prediction: Our tipsters are split on this game with 3 selections for each side

GWS Giants vs. Western Bulldogs

The other game we’re looking forward to this week is GWS and Bulldogs at Spotless Stadium this Sunday.

Both top eight sides are in good form, although GWS have the home ground advantage and Bulldogs are still missing some key players in the backline. Our prediction is that this might prove too tough of an ask for the Western Bulldogs with 5/6 of our expert tipsters going with GWS for the win.

Prediction: 5/6 expert tipsters have tipped GWS to win

Remember to submit your tips this weekend and good luck for the round!
