WHO WILL YOU TIP IN ROUND 19?

ROUND 19 – Who will you tip this round?

Welcome back to CGU’s Football Friday blog for another week of our expert tips.

Round 19 kicks off at 7:50PM AEST tonight between Geelong and the Western Bulldogs at Skilled Stadium!

North Melbourne (8th) vs. St Kilda (9th)
Arguably the biggest game of the year for both sides on Saturday night under lights at Etihad Stadium. North Melbourne will be keen to honour Brent Harvey as the AFL’s new games record holder, eclipsing Hawthorn great Michael Tuck in his 427th match. As for St. Kilda, a loss to the 8th placed Roos will end their finals hopes. Both sides have great records at Etihad Stadium and it shapes as being a hard fought contest at a finals like intensity.

Prediction: James Frankenfeld has been bold and picked the underdog here in St. Kilda. It could be the tip that makes or breaks his chase of Rodney Bond who is two clear in front.

Geelong Cats (4th) vs. Western Bulldogs (7th)
The sides are only separated by percentage, but with six sides currently on twelve wins for the season, every game is crucial to ensure a double chance in September. The Cats have a huge home ground advantage down the Highway and will be hoping to celebrate Jimmy Bartel’s 300th match in style, whilst the Dogs welcome back Jake Stringer and Luke Dalhaus into the side.

Prediction: Only the Kiss of Death is prepared to tip the Dogs this week, probably a good call.

Collingwood (12th) vs. West Coast Eagles (5th)
Whilst the Magpies have nothing but pride to play for in 2016, the Eagles will surely be doing all they can to get more experience at the Grand Final venue. In the last game of 2015, the Hawks sliced the “Weagles Web” wide open on the expansive MCG turf, and it may be their last opportunity to play at the venue before October 1.

Prediction: Our tipsters are split 3-3 on this, but both Steele and Donna are tipping with their hearts on this one and the Kiss of Death hasn’t been great this year. The Eagles should win and be pushing for a top four finish after this round.

The rest of this week’s games have pretty clear favourites, but as always there is the potential of an upset.

Good luck for the round and remember to submit your tips before the first bounce!
