CGU Football Friday – Round 16

CGU Football Friday – Round 16

ROUND 16 – Who will you tip this round?

Welcome back to CGU’s Football Friday blog for another week of our expert tips.

Round 16 kicks off at 7:50PM AEST tonight between Port Adelaide and Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval!

Port Adelaide vs. Hawthorn

Port and Hawthorn will open the round tonight at Adelaide Oval, in what is looking to be a promising match. Hawthorn are clearly the better team, although Port managed to defeat them twice last season.

The big question is, can they do it again?

Prediction: Once again we have a 4/2 split with majority of our expert tipsters going with Hawthorn for the win.

Geelong Cats vs. Sydney Swans

Geelong vs Sydney on Friday night is looking to be the game of the round. Both of these sides had an impressive start to the season and while Sydney have slipped just a little lately we’re still keen to see which side comes out on top.

The Swans are still in with a chance as Geelong are coming off a bye and sometimes that means a bit of a slow start, something that the Cats certainly have been prone to this season.

Prediction: This game could go either way, although with the Cats having the home ground advantage at Simonds Stadium 4/6 tippers are going with Geelong for the win.

West Coast Eagles vs. North Melbourne

Another important game this round is between the two top eight sides West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne at Domain Stadium on Sunday.

West Coast haven’t beaten a top-eight side all season at home or away, and they find themselves a win behind the rest of the top eight at the moment. They should make finals either way but they aren’t likely to do any better than seventh or eighth unless they start to beat some fellow contenders.

North Melbourne on the other hand, have had two wins over top-eight sides but both came early in the year and they’ve lost their last four matches against fellow finalists.  They need a win here to break this concerning trend, or else the list of people writing off their season will only grow longer.

Prediction: Our tipsters once again think that West Coast will have the home ground advantage with 4/6 predicting West Coast for the win.

The rest of this week’s games have pretty clear favourites, but as always there is the potential of an upset.

Good luck for the round and remember to submit your tips before the first bounce!
