CGU Football Friday – Round 13

CGU Football Friday – Round 13

ROUND 13 – Who will you tip this round?

Welcome back to CGU’s Football Friday blog for another week of our expert tips.

Round 13 kicks off at 7:50PM AEST tonight between North Melbourne and Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium, so remember to login and submit your tips before the first bounce!

As anticipated, last week was a hard one to tip which has shaken up the leader board going into Round 13. CGU’s expert tipster Steele Sidebottom is now down to 4th place and CGU’s SA/NT State Manager James Frankenfeld has taken the lead.

Round 13 takes us into the first week of the bye rounds – so there will only be 6 matches to tip this weekend. The match of the round is looking to be Western Bulldogs v Geelong this Saturday night at Etihad Stadium.

North Melbourne vs. Hawthorn

This game can really go either way. Despite being relatively high placed on the ladder, both teams are under the spotlight in terms of their current performance, so will both be looking for a win.

North have a number of injury concerns coming into the match so the nature of the game may fluctuate depending on how well those players pull up and how well any additional players brought into the side are able to perform.

North will also have the home ground advantage and their performance has been slightly more impressive than Hawthorns current undermanned and regenerating side this year.

Both sides have lost their last two matches against current top eight teams, so there’s actually a fair bit riding on this mid-season clash.

Prediction: It’s not an easy decision and that’s why our expert tipsters are split 50/50

Western Bulldogs vs. Geelong Cats

This is another game that can go either way. Geelong have us raving at the moment about the Dangerfield and Selwood combination and rightly so given how well they performed last week and will also welcome back Hawkins this weekend.

On the other hand, Western Bulldogs are better at starving the opposition of the ball than any other team in the league.

Another thing to consider with this game is the Bulldogs curse against Geelong, having failed to win in eight years. The Dogs will no doubt be focusing on shutting down Dangerfield after his 48 disposals last weekend but that could open up other players to shine.

Prediction: Once again our tipsters are split 50/50 for this match

The other four matches on this weekend all look fairly clear cut, but with that said it is the bye rounds are known for upsets so who knows what might happen!

Our expert tipsters have gone with the favourites for all 4 games.

Remember to submit your tips this weekend and good luck for the round!
