Dane Swan is set to miss this weekend's game against the Bombers, which means that 90,000 Fantasy coaches will need to trade him out.
Tom Rockliff(MID, $623,000) is the easiest option for this week after he is coming off scores of 159, 140 and 143 in his last three games. He loves playing at the GABBA where he averaged 142 last year.
Dan Hannebery(MID, $580,000) has averaged 129 at the SCG this year and plays the Suns this week, a team he scored 133 against this year. Tom Mitchell(FWD/MID, $529,000) is clearly the best forward option for Swan and the man I’ll be trading in this week. Especially after he has scored 142 and 138 in his last two games and even posted 131 on the Suns earlier this year.
But if it’s a hot Pie you’re after, then Steele Sidebottom (MID, $553,000) and Taylor Adams(FWD/MID, $535,000) must be on your radar. Sidebottom has averaged 116 in his last three games this year and loves playing the Bombers, a team he has scored 109, 124, 126 and 143 in his last four games against them. Adams scored 135 last week and even had 127 against the Bombers earlier this year. This will be a high scoring game on Sunday afternoon and picking one of these hot Pies might just win you your final this week.
A HUGE SCORING WEEK AHEAD
With the top eight set, expect to see some interesting ‘styles’ of football this week. With many team’s seasons all done and dusted, expect to see some high possession, bruise free games of football this weekend.
Fremantle have been given permission by the AFL to field a ‘B Team’ against the Power on Saturday and many other teams, who are set on the ladder will do the same. Meaning… some big one sided results will be on the cards and some huge Fantasy scores as well.
THE B TEAM?
Ok… so it’s confirmed that Fremantle are bringing a ‘B Team’ to Adelaide Oval to take on the Power. So who will get rested? Aaron Sandilands, Steven Hill and Matthew Pavlich have already been confirmed out, but it’s the rested David Mundy ($553,000) who is in 32% of Fantasy teams that will cause the biggest headache in this situation. However, Jarrad McVeigh ($512,000) and Matthew Boyd ($533,000) are easily your best replacements for him.
Ross Lyon has done it again, but as he said, they have earnt the right to do this but lets hope this is the last of the bad news headlining into final lock-out. Don’t hold your breath.
BEST PICK: Tom Rockliff (Bris)
Although it feels a little boring and predictable, Rocky has to be locked in at #1 this week after coming off 159, 140 and 142 in recent weeks. He has scored 143 and 123 in his last games at the GABBA and he even has scores of 102, 139 and 114 in his last runs against the Bulldogs. He’s the safest pick going around now he has returned to his 2014 form.
NEXT BEST: Dan Hannebery (Syd)
Hannebery averages 129pts at the SCG this year and even had 42 touches (133pts) against the Suns earlier this year.
THE ROUGHIE: Jack Gunston (Haw) or Tom Mitchell (Syd)
Jack Gunston scored 161pts on Carlton earlier this year and just last week, Jeremy Cameron booted 7.3 goals against them (143pts). Tom Mitchell has been in blistering form and loves playing at the SCG where he has scored 138 and 132 in his last two games there. Both of these guys are capable of scoring 150+ on their day and both present as huge roughies this week.
It’s been a pleasure joining you each week to talk all things about Fantasy football. All the best for those who are in the Grand Final this week. Remember, after the season, you can still enter all the Match Day games over the final series.
