CGU Fantasy Football - Round 15

PIE NIGHT, THURSDAY NIGHT

Kicking off round 15 of the AFL will be Port Adelaide hosting Collingwood at the Adelaide Oval.

Expect Scott Pendlebury (MID, $598,000) to be big after his amazing 152pts last weekend. He scored 95 against the Power last year, which happened to be his lowest score against them in his last six games.

Although he only had 85 last week, Dane Swan (FWD/MID, $580,000) has an impressive record against the Power that has seen him score 130+ against them in five of his last seven games. I traded Taylor Adams (FWD/MID, $523,000) into my team last week and I couldn’t have been happier with his 95pts. He has now averaged 122 in his last three games and even scored 111 against the Power last year.

We can’t be too biased here though, so let’s quickly talk about Brad Ebert (MID, $570,000). He loves playing at home and has scored 116 and 134 at Adelaide Oval in his last two games. He has scored 103, 112, 137 and 100 in his last four games against the Pies and although he only had 77 last weekend, expect him to dominate on Thursday night.

IS HE BACK?

Is Gary Ablett (MID, $576,000) back? Ablett returned last week and scored a very solid 119 from 31 touches and 3 goals. His price will continue to drop over the next week or two as he is currently carrying a breakeven of 141. Ablett is back and looked to be fit and firing on the weekend improving his scoring output every quarter. My verdict, Ablett is a must have midfielder, but you’ll have a couple of weeks to start saving up your money as he slowly drops in price.

Is Jordan Lewis (MID, $564,000) back? He was averaging 142 after his first three games this year and has had a horrible run of scores up until last week when he finally bounced back with 125. The thing that caught my eye is the fact he took 10 marks. He worked hard to chase possessions through half back and showed positive signs that have been missing over the last two months. He’s back and a worthy pick at a juicy price. But if I was you, I’d wait one more week, just to make sure.

CALVIN’S CAPTAINS

BEST PICKDavid Armitage
This guy is amazing! Armo scored 140 last week, his third 140+ game this year. He played the Giants in round one and only managed 89. Before that though he scored 109 and 136 against them.

Last week, Cotchin (145) and Martin (132) scored with ease against the Giants and so will this Fantasy star this week.

NEXT BESTMatthew Boyd
Boyd scored 143 last week and has been in fine form. He scored 109 and 112 on the Suns last year and will dominate them again in Cairns on Saturday afternoon.

THE ROUGHIEJordan Lewis
It’s hard to call Lewis a ‘roughie’ but based on the fact, before his score of 125 last week, he was going through a rough patch scoring 82, 75 and 80.

He scored 156 and 120 on the Dockers last year and plays this week in Launceston, a place he has already scored 152 at this year, with an average of 119 on over the last two years.
