CGU Fantasy Football - Round 13

Welcome back to Round 13 of CGU Fantasy Football!

Collingwood are back from their bye this round and going head to head with Fremantle at Domain Stadium.

Now fourth on the ladder with eight wins under their belt, the next few rounds are more important than ever for the pies.

#GoPies!

DON’T MESS UP

With one bye round left, now is the time to not get stressed. Do not butcher your team this week, leaving is messed up for when Fantasy gets back to normal in round 14.

Add up your guns and rookies to make sure your structure in round 14 is exactly what you want. This means, you don’t want to have players such as Dumont, Hamling and Krakouer on your field. Instead you want quality rookies who can produce more than 50pts on their day and I have two rippers for you right here…

BOMBER YOUNG GUNS

Elliott Kavanagh (MID, $200,000) is a young Bomber who should be on your radar this week now that he has had his bye. In his last two games he has scored 66 and 83, and unlike other rookies, he actually gets midfield time. His team mate, Orazio Fantasia (FWD, $195,000) is another top option who has averaged 73 in his first two games. These guys are perfect picks this week and will make you some good cash over the next few rounds.

FALLEN CROWS

Rory Sloane (MID, $483,000) should be at the top of your shopping list this week after he bounced back into some form scoring 109pts last week. He’s currently $109,000 cheaper than his starting price and plays the Lions this week, a team he scored a career high 160pts on last year. Brodie Smith (DEF, $343,000) had 80 last week and is $122,000 less than his starting price. Smith has had a poor run with injuries this year and is now back playing some great football. He is clearly the best valued defender going around.

He’s not a Crows, but Jack Macrae (MID, $548,000) should also be on your radar after his great return of form scoring 120 and 130 in his last two games. He has a Fantasy friendly run coming up and should average 120 with ease over the next few weeks against the Saints, Carlton and the Gold Coast.

CALVIN’S CAPTAINS

BEST PICKDane Swan
Hot Pies, Hot Swanny! In his last five games this year, he has scored 117, 103, 124, 123 and 117. He scored 97 against the Dockers last year but over his career he has had some massive games against them that has seen him score 125, 131, 158 and 172. He’s playing on Thursday night so make sure he’s locked away safely with the big ‘C’.

NEXT BESTDavid Armitage
Even on a bad day, Armitage is always a chance to manage 100+. He is averaging 115 this year and scored 144 with 45 touches against the Bulldogs in round six. He’ll be good again after a week off.

THE ROUGHIEPatrick Cripps
Over the last two weeks, Cripps has scored 128 and 94. This week he plays the Gold Coast Suns who have given up 23 tons to opposition teams over the last three weeks. To put that into perspective, the flip side of that are the Sydney swans who have given up just five over the same period. He is a small chance to cop a tag from Andrew Raines though but it won’t matter, the kid can play and is clearly the best roughie in round 13.
