Ben Bessell

Chief Executive, Commercial Insurance

Ben was appointed Chief Executive, IAG Commercial Insurance in March 2015. He joined IAG in Tasmania in 1993.

Prior to his current role he was Chief Commercial Officer, General Manager of Broker & Agency, General Manager of Workers Compensation and General Manager of CGU Claims.

Ben has more than 20 years’ experience working in the insurance sector and has lived and worked across many locations.

He is a member of ANZIIF and an alumnus of the London Business School.

Donna Walker

Executive General Manager, Broker Business

Donna is Executive General Manager, Broker Business. In this role Donna has responsibility for developing relationships and driving our performance in the broker market.

Prior to her current role, Donna was CGU's General Manager of Claims and Chief Actuary, leading the provision of claims services across CGU commercial and personal lines products.

Since joining CGU in 1999, Donna has worked in a senior capacity across a variety of areas of the business, including leading large scale change programs, pricing frameworks, reinsurance projects and performance monitoring and management information delivery.

Donna is the Chair of the IAG Diversity and Inclusion Action Group which focuses on progressing the way IAG optimises diversity of thinking and inclusiveness to drive stronger business outcomes.

Donna is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Phuong Ly

Executive General Manager, Agencies

Phuong is Executive General Manager, Agencies. He has the responsibility for the performance and strategic growth of business through the underwriting agency channel.

This will include exploring new agency opportunities as well as supporting our existing agencies, SUU, AH&I, NTI and Millennium.

Prior to his latest appointment, Phuong was CGU’s Chief Underwriting Officer, and prior to this he was National Manager – Construction and Engineering.

Before that he held key roles across the construction and engineering industry.

Phuong has a Graduate Diploma of Insurance at Deakin University and a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) and Bachelor of Commerce. He is also a member of ANZIIF

Stuart Chapman

Executive General Manager, Niche and Direct Business
Stuart is Executive General Manager, Niche and Direct Business and is responsible for our WFI, Swann, Retail Business Insurance, and National Advisor Services businesses.
Prior to this, Stuart was appointed CGU's Chief Financial Officer in January 2012. He is a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years’ experience working in the insurance industry.
Stuart joined CGU through our Swann subsidiary in 2001 and held several senior management positions at Swann before being appointed Swann General Manager in 2007.
Prior to Swann, Stuart was Finance Manager at Fortis, which he joined after six years with Ernst & Young.

Andrew Ziolkowski

Executive General Manager, Underwriting
Andrew Ziolkowski is Executive General Manager, Underwriting and has responsibility for portfolio management, underwriting services and product research and development.
Andrew has over 15 years’ experience in the general insurance industry and joined us from Wesfarmers Insurance where he was Chief Underwriter from 2012.
He has an actuarial background and has extensive experience across underwriting operations and portfolio management.
Andrew is an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and has a Bachelor of Economics, majoring in Actuarial Studies.

Fiona Phillips

Executive General Manager, Business Services
Fiona is the Executive General Manager, Business Services and is responsible for our operating model performance and major initiatives for Commercial Insurance. 
Fiona joined CGU in 2003 and has over 20 years experience in the financial services sector across banking and insurance. She has led a number of major change programs for CGU including a significant transformation of the claims function.
In 2006 Fiona was selected as the AFR Boss Young Executive of the Year.
