Proposal to transfer CGU insurance licence

CGU Insurance is well represented at this year's National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) Convention currently underway in Adelaide.
Donna Walker, EGM Broker Business, says that the NIBA Convention is an important fixture on the insurance calendar.
"We're very proud to be part of the NIBA convention, and this year it's particularly exciting as we are represented by both the CGU and Lumley brands.
"It's a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the strength that our combined Broker Business will bring to our partners, and the feedback we've had today has been incredibly positive," she said.
This year CGU was one of three finalists shortlisted for the NIBA General Insurer of the Year Award. The award, which is decided by the votes of more than 1,300 brokers, is an acknowledgement of the significant work CGU has been doing to improve our service and proposition in the market.
"We missed out on winning by the narrowest of margins, just 14 votes, which shows that the hard work really is paying off," Donna said.
At the CGU-sponsored official opening last night, Steve Waugh, the former Australian cricket captain addressed delegates. Steve put forward a number of insights about how we can act in the market to deliver success, drawing parallels between the Australian cricket team in his time as captain and what it takes to succeed in the insurance today.
The theme of the Convention is 'Own the Future', and we are using the opportunity to actively show how we can support our partners and customers in adapting for the challenges ahead.
CGU is also sponsoring the official Convention app, which is proving incredibly popular with delegates.
This is the 32nd annual NIBA Convention, and it provides an important opportunity for us to meet our partners, build relationships and contribute our voice to the issues affecting the industry.
