CGU secure three-year partnership with NSW Waratahs

The NSW Waratahs and CGU Insurance have today announced a three-year partnership that will see CGU as the Official Insurance Partner. The brand will also feature on the lower back of the 2015 Waratahs jersey as the club looks to secure back-to-back championship titles.

IAG Commercial Insurance CEO, Peter Harmer said he is excited about the prospects of a partnership with the Waratahs.

“Aligning the CGU brand with an iconic NSW rugby institution like the Waratahs, complements our strong position in this market and connects with our people, customers and partners in NSW. The partnership also provides exciting opportunities to build awareness of our brand and deliver on our business strategy.

“Off the back of the 2014 Championship, the Waratahs have demonstrated their ability to see it through which is our promise to our customers and partners. We look forward to a strong and successful 2015 together,” said Mr Harmer.

The new look jersey was unveiled today at the partnership launch, and will be first worn in the opening round of the season when NSW host the Western Force on Sunday 15 February.

The sponsorship deal will also provide CGU with access to Waratahs IP and an important engagement program to build key relationships across their broker network in NSW and beyond.

NSW Waratahs CEO Jason Allen said the partnership will extend well beyond the on-field activity.
