Welcome to the September edition of Insights!
I’m looking forward to seeing those of you who will be attending the NIBA convention in Melbourne next week. In addition to our regular expo stand and our fun Monday night Havana Night party, we’re also offering NIBA convention attendees the opportunity to participate in a pilot virtual reality risk identification experience.
In this issue, we examine the recent Australian census shut down, exploring the lessons businesses can learn about cyber security from the #censusfail. The story covers the basics of what a DDOS attack is, to the ramifications from trading halts to reputational damage that a small business might experience following such an attack.
Speaking of cyber risks to small businesses, in this issue, you’ll also find an article outlining why small businesses are such an attractive target for cyber criminals, which you may wish to share with your clients to help explain why their businesses may be at risk.
We’ve also published a blog article outlining what Professional Indemnity insurance is, as we know customers can struggle to understand what PI is and why they need it.
I’m also pleased to share with you some system enhancements we’ve been making and will continue to make to reduce referrals by introducing more targeted question sets, so we can better rate risks without you needing to ring our underwriting team.
Again, I look forward to seeing those of you who will be attending the NIBA convention.
