Backing you and your small business

We know this is a tough time for small businesses, and we want to support you as much as we can.

Here’s what we can do to help you and your business during the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Is your business in financial hardship?

If your small business is experiencing financial hardship because of the coronavirus pandemic, we can defer your annual or monthly business insurance premiums (excluding Workers Compensation) for up to six months.

Deferring the payment means your business will still be covered, but you won’t need to make a payment for up to six months.

You're eligible to defer your business insurance premiums if your business has an annual turnover of less than $50 million (or a sum-insured asset value definition of up to $10 million).

To apply, call us on 13 24 81 before 31 December 2020.

We can also discuss other options with you that might ease your financial stress, like switching to monthly payments or reviewing how much cover you need during the pandemic.

 

Need to cancel your policy?

If you no longer need your cover, you can cancel your business insurance policy and we’ll refund the unused part of your premium payment.

So, for example, if you’re 6 months into a 12-month policy, we’ll refund half your premium payment.

You’re eligible if your business has an annual turnover of less than $50 million (or a sum-insured asset value definition of up to $10 million), or if you got your policy through your broker.

To cancel your policy, call us on 13 24 81.

 

Have your business premises closed?

It’s often more expensive to cover your business premises if they’re empty for long periods of time.

If your premises are usually occupied but now they’re empty, that would normally affect your premiums.

But until 31 December 2020, we won’t increase your premiums because your premises have become temporarily vacant during the coronavirus pandemic.

You’re eligible if your business has an annual turnover of less than $50 million (or a sum-insured asset value definition of up to $10 million).

If you’ve had to temporarily close your business premises and you need to update your policy, call us on 13 24 81.

 

Do you need someone to talk to?

We can offer free, confidential counselling for you and your family if you need help during these tough times.

We’ll provide up to four one-hour sessions for each family member who wants counselling.

All the counselling is from qualified psychologists, and all your sessions are confidential.

To use this service, you just need to have a current policy with us (you don’t need to make a claim). Your family (which means your partner, children, and other dependents) can use the service, too.
