If your workers' compensation claim is accepted, you could be eligible for compensation.
What am I covered for?
If your workers' compensation claim is accepted, you could be eligible for a variety of compensation payments including:
-
weekly payments where time off work is required – to be eligible you must obtain a WorkSafe medical certificate from your treating doctor and provide it to either your employer or CGU directly.
The amount you will be paid is calculated using your Pre Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE). Your PIAWE is determined by averaging the 52 weeks of your pay history immediately preceding the injury date. More information on PIAWE and other injured worker entitlements is available from the WorkSafe website - reasonable medical and like expenses – these are paid in line with WorkSafe agreed amounts. Your treatment provider can send their bill directly to CGU for payment.
- accommodation costs – if you are required to be away from home to receive treatment
- travel and transportation costs – public transport and car travel costs reasonably incurred during treatment may be reimbursed. Fill out and submit a travel reimbursement form and include any invoices or receipts.
- lump sum payments – for permanent impairment as a result of a workplace injury.
