CGU voted ‘2015 General Insurer of the Year’ by NIBA brokers

CGU has been voted General Insurer of the Year for 2015 in the annual NIBA survey of more than 1,100 insurance brokers. This prestigious industry award recognises the best overall insurer for product and service quality.
Ben Bessell, IAG Chief Executive Commercial Insurance, which owns the CGU business, said he was delighted CGU won this year after being a finalist in 2014.
“We are proud and honoured to have been awarded the NIBA General Insurer of the Year award for 2015,” he said.
“Our business is built around our partnerships with brokers and we place great value on the recognition we receive from them. I want to thank them for the support they continue to give us and for this vote of confidence.
“To win this award is particularly rewarding in a year where we’ve experienced challenging market conditions, heavily invested in setting ourselves up for the future and brought the best of both Lumley and CGU into our business. And I think it shows that we are on the right track at CGU,” Mr Bessell said.
Donna Walker, Executive General Manager, Broker Business, IAG Commercial Insurance said she was particularly pleased that CGU’s dedicated sales, underwriting and service teams who work incredibly hard to support customers and partners had been recognised in NIBA’s annual Broker Market Survey.
“It’s a great credit to our people to have maintained our service levels throughout this time, and I think it is a great demonstration of our commitment and continued focus to serve our broker partners,” she said.
“I’m really excited about where we are heading as an organisation and what we’re doing to enhance our offering to customers and partners.
“As an organisation we’ve made a strong commitment to the market that we will continue to invest in technology capability to empower partners and customers and give them more choice in how they want to deal with us,” Ms Walker said.
Over 1,100 NIBA brokers participated in the annual NIBA Broker Market Survey. The survey is voted for by NIBA member brokers, who rate insurers’ products and services in a range of categories.
