Farmers to get free access to medical care

Best Doctors service provides remote access to international experts who work with a current diagnosis to offer second opinions, treatment plans and advice.

Donna Walker, IAG Executive General Manager Broker Business said the partnership was a fantastic opportunity to help rural customers living in regional communities gain access to world-class treatment and advice from the comfort of their own home.
“As a risk partner, we know just how important it is for farmers and rural business owners to take care of their health and well-being,” she said.
“CGU’s partnership with Best Doctors means that all rural customers and family members with a CountryPak policy will now have access to this service for free.
“Our rural customers often find it difficult to access specialist medical support due to their remote locations so we see this partnership as a great way to help them and their families gain access to the very best advice and treatment plans,” Ms Walker said.
Dr John Mahyew, Best Doctors Advisory Board member and New Zealand Warriors team doctor said CGU rural customers now have the opportunity to access leading medical minds from around the world.
“Second opinions are becoming more common practice these days and Best Doctors offers patients and treating doctors the opportunity to seek an additional opinion from a global expert nominated by their peers as the best in their field,” he said.
“Best Doctors offers treating doctors support and helps ensure they provide the best possible care for their patients,” Dr Mahyew said.
